Your teachers at Sangha are passionate, committed and qualified to teach the practices of Yoga, TaiChi and Qi Gong. And they are students at the same time - we believe that learning is a two way process, and Sangha's teachers will always be observing and adapting the teaching to each student they come into contact with. It's a space where the teachers learn as much as the students themselves.

Our teachers personalise these practices for their students so that they can create their own journeys looking for answers within themselves. No body is the same and no posture is perfect. Within group practices we move together- but have different journeys and different experiences. We respect and expect that as teachers.

Bo Srey is a Certified Anusara™ yoga teacher (www.spandananda.com). Born in New York City to Cambodian parents, he moved to Singapore in 2005. Having practiced yoga and meditation since 1996, Bo brings a joyful and caring spirit to the yoga practice.

As an undergraduate at the University of Rochester, Bo studied with renowned Indian philosophy scholar, Douglas Brooks. Bo began the practice of hatha yoga because of a life-long study of martial arts and a deep interest in the mystical tradition of the East. His first hatha yoga teacher was Rudrani Farbman. Her wisdom permeated every word she spoke. Bo is truly indebted to her for helping him experience hatha yoga from the inside out.

While teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bo also studied with Tony Briggs, a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher with whom he completed a 1-year Teacher Training apprenticeship. During that time, he deepened his studies with his main teacher, Anusara Founder, John Friend. Bo has studied hundreds of hours with John Friend throughout the United States, Europe, China, Japan and Taiwan. These studies include two, level-1 Teacher Trainings, a level-2 Teacher Training, Master Immersion, therapy trainings and countless weekend workshops on yoga and philosophy. In 2008, Bo followed John Friend on his Light The Sky tour.

Anusara yoga is a style of hatha yoga that reminds students of their true essence, heals the body with powerful and sound biomechanical principles and unifies outer strength with inner joy. Bo's classes reflect the eternal dance of opposite forces: shiva-shakti, yin-yang, concealment-revelation. His classes are challenging, yet fun and light. While teaching precise principles of alignment, Bo constantly encourages students to access their wisdom center, letting the practice reveal each student's joyful nature.

Kanya was born and brought up in the beautiful Southern Indian state of Kerala. She learned the first steps of yoga as a child from her grandfather who was a student of Swami Sivananda and a lifelong practitioner of yoga.

Life changes, disillusionment with the corporate world and an amorphous need for something deeper brought her to yoga again - this time it brought about integration, focus and healing. After a transformational training with Andrey Lappa, it became clear that this is the path she should follow. She hopes to continue learning, growing and helping others through life as practice, as yoga. She is deeply grateful to all her teachers and dedicates her practice to the attainment of higher consciousness and healing.

Her classes start with good intention, have a strong basis in anatomy and alignment and use asanas, pranayamas, mudras, bandhas, kriyas, meditation and shamanic healing methods to create positive change in and provide a beautiful experience for the students.

Nadia has been teaching yoga since 2004. Ever since her first teacher training with Baron Baptiste, she has enjoyed the practice as a student and a teacher. Over the years yoga has been the greatest tool that has empowered her. For Nadia, her practice is meditation in movement, a sacred part of life which teaches her the value of the physical body that houses her essence. Each one of her practices is valuable in creating awareness and gratitude. Through her asana practice she feels physically strong and whole, an experience for her that is unlike any other, derived from other forms of physical exercise, that she was involved with in the past. The holistic practice of yoga with its many elements, helps her emotionally to make better decisions, especially now as a mother.

"Teaching yoga is my passion. The gifts that I receive through my practice I enjoy sharing with my students. I enjoy seeing people transform their lives through this unique practice."

Nadia has studied with Baron Baptiste and completed the highest level of teacher training in Power Vinyasa Yoga. She’s also certified in POET (Pain and Orthopedic evaluation) and Tibetan Yoga. Over the years she has studied with many other teachers who have guided her in understanding and appreciating the vast knowledge of Yoga. She continues to take trainings and immersions with many senior teachers. She has also taught pre natal and post natal yoga, and for that, her intention has been to empower women during pregnancy and beyond. Her classes are mostly flow based and customized to the needs of the group she teaches.

Nadia is also a certified Holistic Health Counselor.

Nadia is very thankful to all her teachers and students who continue to inspire her on this journey.

A magazine editor once upon a time, Sabina left the rat race in 2009 to pursue her passion for yoga. She studied with Certified Anusara instructor Patrick Creelman to obtain her 200-hour Teacher Training certification at Pure Yoga in July 2010.

After her first yoga class in 2004, Sabina became addicted. Through yoga, she learnt that her  injuries (from sprinting, long  jumping and rollerblading) could be great tools for learning, and physical 'obstacles' can be gateways to healing and transformation.

After trying many styles of yoga, Sabina fell in love with Anusara because of its delicate, highly systemised balance of mind, body and heart. As her practice deepened she found that yoga made the impossible, possible. This was true both on the mat (where touching her toes was once a pipe dream) as well as off the mat (where a mid-life career change was before, unthinkable).

Yoga has given Sabina so much joy and her goal in every class is for her students to feel that same joy.
